A Learning Coach is a parent or responsible adult who supports a student’s daily learning at home. While the PVLA coordinator oversees academic progress and grading, the Learning Coach helps the student stay on track, build routines, and develop strong learning habits.
Creates Structure: Helps set up a daily schedule and a quiet workspace.
Keeps student organized: Ensures assignments, materials and deadlines are managed.
Provides motivation: Encourages the student, keeps them focused, and helps them stay engaged.
Supports learning: Assits with directions, breaks down tasks, and helps the student understand what needs to be done.
Communicates with teachers: Partners with teachers during check-ins, meetings, and progress updates
