PVLA combines flexible at-home learning with personalized learning plans tailored to each student. Learning Coaches and students work alongside a dedicated teacher to provide instruction, guidance, and ongoing support. Together, we create a learning experience that meets each student's needs and helps them grow with confidence. Any student enrolled in the Pendleton School District can enroll in PVLA. Select Curriculum
Independent Learning: Students manage their own schedules to complete assignments at a pace that works for them.
Attendance: State law requires daily attendance, which is recorded through online coursework or check-ins with teachers.
Roles: A parent or designated adult serves as the Learning Coach, providing structure, motivation, and academic support at home.
Support: Highly-qualified teachers are available for one-on-one help through study hall sessions, home visits, or virtual meetings.
Technology: Students may check out a school-issued computer for the school year.
Check-ins: Check-ins are a required part of the program, they can be scheduled in-person or virtually.
Activites: Families are invited to join monthly field trips and enrichment activities to build community and extended learning
IEPs/504: Students with an IEP or 504 will continue to have their academic needs met through their home-building.
