There has a been a long debate over whether or not Read a New Book Month is observed in September or December (we are totally team December)! With December comes snow days, fuzzy socks, and the soft ambient glow of a fireplace...so essentially, the perfect combination for a readathon! So, what do you want to read? Here are a few ideas to help you with selecting your new book!
Go for the unexpected. Pick up a book so far out of your reading zone that it scares you a little. If you are a hopeless romantic who devours light hearted love stories, try a spine chilling murder mystery. Do you only read fiction? Branch out and give non-fiction a try. Try something new. You never know, you might just find your next favorite genre!
Learn something new. Have you been meaning to learn about traveling? Need a knitting patterning book? Want to teach yourself to fix your car? Interested in bugs & beetles? Take the time to find a book that will teach you what you would like to learn, plan a project, get creative, or spark your curiosity!
Don't overthink it. If you are still pondering over your next read, pull up your wish list in Sora or in the digital catalog, walk through the book stacks and pick a book at random, or ask Ms. Fleck or Mrs. Sargent for a suggestion!
