Joseph D'Angelo
by Brandon Perry
Senior Joseph D’Angelo, track star and captain of the track team, is this May's athlete of the month. His hard work on and off the track has led to his success in many of his recent track meets. Joe has been great for the Titans this year and is looking to continue their great streak on the track. Motivated by his determination to win and willingness to win, this has led him to a great season filled with many accomplishments.
Both he and the track team are doing great this year boasting an impressive record with a great lineup of runners,
“We are having a good season… 2-1 in league meets, but looking forward towards states this year” said Joe.
With some of his impressive accomplishments such as his gold medal in the 4x100, 4x200, and the 4x400 along with running a top 5 time in the state in the 4x100 with 43.26 seconds breaking a meet record.
“I’ve been consistently getting new PR’s every couple meets and looking forward to competing for a state championship in the 100 and the 200”.
With his great running, Joe is looking to bring home a state championship for the Titans along with himself and maybe break a few records there too.
With his recent commitment to run division II track at Saint Anslems College, he will continue to run and continue to break more records there.
“It was the best school academically and athletically which is mostly why I chose to go there… It will be difficult to stay on top of my running and my grades but I will do great there”.
Joe will continue to represent Pembroke continuing his hard work and dedication to track and hopefully break a few records there as well.
Starting track in high school, his skills have been quickly come to view as he has shocked the entire state with his accomplishments and his awards, hopefully Joe can continue his success and continue to shine on the track and bring home more awards for the Titans.
