Welcoming Wilson to the Stage

One of our very own, senior Laci Wilson, has become a well known competitive cheerleader and model. She shared her story of how she came up in the industry from pageants, to modeling, to cheer, with support from her family and friends throughout the last few years.
Wilson’s inspiration to join pageants and modeling began when she was only two years old. She said, “I won many titles and got opportunities of a lifetime. I won Miss Massachusetts in 2012 and got first runner up overall in the country. After 10 years of doing pageants I tried all star cheerleading and fell in love. I have been an all star cheerleader for 11 years now and it has taken over my whole life and is a big part of who I am.”
Wilson modeled when she was younger and was even featured in magazines which inspired her to work for Varsity, a well known competitive cheerleading brand.
“I applied in 2020 and soon found out I was chosen as a fashionista model. I was ecstatic to combine my love for cheerleading and modeling in front of the camera. In 2021, I was chosen as the Cover Model for the 2021 catalog,” Wilson said.
Wilson then became a social media star as her following began to grow more and more. At competitions many other cheerleaders would ask for photos as they had been looking up to her. Wilson elaborated on her rapid growth saying, “I gained thousands of followers on instagram after I made “Bombshells” cheerleading team. After I made the cover of the 2021 catalog, my following on social media increased as well as more and more cheerleaders asking me for pictures.”
Wilson explained how honored she felt to be recognized by strangers saying, “Sometimes it was overwhelming, but I wouldn’t trade this life for anything.”
