One of the most notable faces around Pembroke High School is not a student, but in fact a teacher, Pembroke sports superfan, and avid Taylor Swift listener. Her name is Mrs. Infascelli.
Mrs. Infascelli, aka 'Infa', is in her 17th year of teaching, 13th at Pembroke, after 4 years at North Attleboro, and is an avid supporter of the sports teams at PHS. You will almost certainly see Mrs. Infa in the hallways greeting students every day. Infascelli teaches a multitude of classes such as Honors Algebra 2, Honors Geometry, and AIM 2.
Q: When did you realize you wanted to be a high school teacher?
A: “In college I thought I wanted to go to Law School, and I even worked in a law firm. I sent an Email to my sister saying that I needed to interact with people on a day to day basis, and I loved math. Then I became a math teacher even though I majored in math and Political Science.”
Q: What is your teaching philosophy?
A: “It's always that I want to make math fun. My biggest priority is providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students, or else they may not want to learn.”
Q: If you could give one word of advice to high school students, what would it be?
“Just be yourself. I am one for being myself at all times, take it or leave it. And especially with social media, I think that there are a lot more social expectations that students have to live up to, and kids will mold to what society wants them to be.”
Q: What's your favorite story from your years of teaching?
A: “Knowing that I have made an impact in a positive way upon students is something that I love the most”
Q: What is your favorite PHS sport to watch and why?
A: “Track and field, Running is a passion of mine and I consider myself to be a student of the sport.”
Q: What do you spend your summers doing?
A: “Sewing bags, along with running. I also went to four Taylor Swift concerts this summer, 2 in Munich and 2 in London.”
