Senior Kat Taylor was nominated artist of the month for her amazing photography and digital drawing skills.
Q: Do you like doing photography?
A: Yes I love it. I started photography in 2019. I took digital photography ninth grade, then started taking sports photography. Boosters pay me to do their media day. I am doing the Digital Arts Pathway.
Q: Is photography something you want to do in the future?
A: Yes I want to major this in college. My dream is to go to the Galápagos, which is a province of Ecuador. I want to photograph a blue-footed booby bird, whish has been my favorite bird since fourth grade.
Q: Why did you go to Alaska?
A: I went to Alaska for 5 days for an internship and took pictures of bears. We took a small plane every day to find the bears. We walked an average of 5 miles a day.. Most of the bears were Grizzlies. There were lots of cubs.
Q: What was the intership for?
A: My dad’s best friend is a professional photographer and he showed me what he does. He goes to Africa, Greenland, and Alaska sponsored by Olympus cameras. He covers a surfing tournament in Hawaii, as well as national parks.
Q: What's one piece of advice you’d give to underclassmen wanting to do photography?
A: Be patient and go at your own pace. People are impatient when it comes to pictures.

This month's student spotlight is shined upon 11th grader, Jacob Harnden. He and his friends from another school have been creating music for their own band including covers of songs and even their own music.
Q: “When did your band start?”
A: “We started in early 2024”
Q: “Who are all the members of your band?”
A: “I'm the lead guitarist, Jacob Kenneway plays the bass guitar, Piper Levirne does the lead vocals, Aidan Campbell is the Rhythm guitarist, plays the piano, and does backing vocals, and Auggie Ames is our drummer.”
Q: What inspired you to create a band?
A: “Me and my best friend Jacob were just jamming and after performing in an open mic and practicing together, we decided we wanted to create a band.”
Q: How did you and your band come together?
A: “Jacob first invited Aidan to join the band, then Auggie, then piper. After that, we had a full band. They also all go to scituate high school, i'm the only Pembroke kid in the band.”
Q: When did you begin to play the guitar?
A: “I started playing in August of 2023”
Q: Out of every instrument, why guitar?
A: “I randomly picked it up one day and wanted to learn it, and the music I listen to all has guitar and it sounds so good to me.”
Q: How far do you and your band plan to make it with music?
A: “As far as we can, hopefully even after high school.”
