Mrs. Murphy

With 22 years of experience in the Pelham School District, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for literacy to my role as the Reading Specialist at Pelham Elementary School. This marks my eighth year in this specialized position, where I have the privilege of working closely with students to foster their reading development and cultivate a lifelong love of books. Prior to transitioning into this role, I spent 15 fulfilling years as a third-grade teacher within the district, building a strong foundation in elementary education and understanding the diverse learning needs of young students. My extensive experience in both the classroom and in targeted reading intervention allows me to approach literacy education with a comprehensive and effective perspective.

Outside of school, my family is a very important part of my life. I'm married with four wonderful children. My twins, CJ and Ava, are both heading off to college this fall! My daughter Addison will be a junior this year, and my youngest, Dawson, will be in 5th grade. Our family also includes two beloved cats, Walker and Tigress. We cherish our time together, especially when we're on vacation. We love exploring nature, relaxing at the beach, and stargazing.
