In this project, Grade 4 learners explored the unique and vibrant features of the mandrill, a colourful primate known for its striking facial markings. Using pastels, students learned about blending techniques to capture the mandrill's rich hues, including the blues, reds, and yellows of its face. They practiced layering colours and adding texture to create the illusion of fur, emphasizing the contrast between the mandrill's vivid facial features and its softer, darker body tones.
