Mission

To provide support for students working on school assignments, college essays, scholarship essays, and any other writing-related activity.

When to use the PHS Writing Center

• You are almost at the final draft of your essay for class- Ms. Torp will go over it with you so that you are handing in your strongest work

• You are either at the beginning or the end of the college essay writing process and would like feedback

• You are looking for feedback on short writing pieces like scholarship essays

• You have been assigned a research project and need help with:

  • Planning out how you complete your project

  • Finding resources for your research

  • Creating a piece of writing that synthesizes your research with your own ideas

  • Completing a works cited/bibliography/reference list using MLA, APA, Chicago style, etc. citation formats

  • Revising a draft of your work

How to use the PHS Writing Center

First email Ms. Torp at ktorp@peekskillschools.org with an explanation of your task, whatever work you have already completed, and an appointment time that works for you. Ms. Torp will then confirm your appointment time.

You MUST meet with Ms. Torp in order to get feedback on your work.
