Data in Action. It Takes a Team!
(10:00 AM - 10:50 AM)
"STARS/NOVA Coordinators are vital members of the data team. Education agencies have begun to move beyond collecting and reporting data for mainly compliance purposes to recognizing the value and utility of cross-sector, longitudinal data for continuous improvement and education equity. This session will show how the data submitted to the PED impacts every level of K-12, postsecondary, and adult education, workforce development and industry.
From course codes to course alignments, student enrollment and accurately representing the district to ensure proper funding levels, the quality of data entered into a system will greatly affect the quality of the output of that data and, as a result, the appropriate use of that data. STARS course codes improve the consistency, quality, and intentionality of CTE programs of study. District-wide use of student data can be used to drive school improvement, be shared, discussed, and disseminated with school boards, parents, and the community. And ultimately, data in action is used to develop and implement high-quality and equitable career, technical education and work-based learning systems in partnership with workforce demands."
