Building Your Stress Toolkit

This website is filled with stress management techniques that have helped me “Be More and Stress Less”. I hope you can use some of them to help you find peace and satisfaction in life. Take what works for you and leave behind what doesn’t. Build your own stress toolkit!

"Resilient people have a menu of self-care habits." (Waters 2013)

Your toolkit can be anything you wish to create. Grab a shoe box, folder or basket if you like to hold and touch your collected materials. I keep a basket of objects like massage rollers, heat packs, a herbal infused neck wraps, a scraper and my myofascial release cups in my bedroom. I also have a folder of handouts that list stress management techniques and articles with relaxation tips. I keep some herbal tea in the kitchen and in my desk drawer at work and a bag of epsom salts by the bathtub. You may also want to make a digital copy via a google doc or slide presentation that has your stress profile and other materials or lists you have collected that work for you. That way you can log in and find that info whenever and wherever you want.

We can only do our best if we feel our best. When we experience stress, it is sometimes hard to pick ourselves back up. The important thing is that we realize we are human and that if we can’t do it today, tomorrow is open to new opportunities.
