How to 3D print

Submit a 3D printing ticket HERE

Please have your le as an STL format. For 3D printing, it is important that your object is a “closed” solid. If the program you are working in says the object is “open” it may not work.

Make sure your project is scaled correctly tell us in the body of the e-mail what size it should be so we ensure it is the correct scale. The more accurate the better.

We will send you a cost and you need to send in a receipt in order to pick up your print. You can pay at https://commerce.cashnet.com/arch

Contact digilab@pdx.edu with any questions.

Other things to know:

3D printers print supports on all overhanging areas. Be prepared to remove these if we don’t. I recommend needle nose plyers and wire cutters.

PLA is the default material it is 7 cents a gram. If you prefer a resin print specify that in the e-mail. Resin is 20 cents a gram.

If you would like more information you can e-mail us at digilab@pdx.edu. To meet to talk about your le schedule it with the Digital Media Lesions here https://linktr.ee/dml.soa
