REGALIA
What do I need?
If you plan to walk in a Portland State University Commencement ceremony, you must wear:
A black gown
A black mortarboard cap
You should have a tassel that shows your school, college or specific degree
You can also:
Decorate your cap and take part in the
Grad Cap ContestWear stoles — the Stole of Gratitude (available at University Market), academic stoles, cultural stoles
Purchase a souvenir PSU green-and-white tassel or other tassels of significance
Add items of personal significance, i.e. "bling," in the form of such things as beads, flowers, leis, decorations.
You cannot:
Wear a gown of another color unless you are a doctoral graduate or staff representing the school where you earned your doctorate degree

Wear PSU's colors and academic seal during the ceremony then give the stole to someone special

Note: If you are registered to walk at commencement, a diploma cover will be given to you at the ceremony.
