Week 4
June 10- June 16
June 10- June 16
This week we will be reading the article Speaking Back to Manifest Destinies: A land education-based approach to critical curriculum inquiry. The article centers Indigenous philosophies of land and Indigenous peoples in land-based education as it challenges the status quo of settler-colonial Eurowestern education. Tribal Land Transfer is the touching story of the Clatsop-Nehalam people getting a portion of their land back on the Oregon Coast. Lastly you will take a look at a lesson plan called The Land's Story. As you review the lesson plan, think of how you will create your own lesson plan related to land and place for our assignment this term. There is a sample blank lesson plan and a sample "dandelion activity" lesson plan below.
