PARTICIPATION GUIDE
All schools must complete this step each cycle.
If your college/university plans to participate in InventOR and send student teams to Bootcamp and/or Finals, you must register your institution as an InventOR Partner School, regardless of whether you plan to host an Innovation Jam.

Confirms your school’s participation for the current InventOR cycle
Ensures your students are eligible to advance to InventOR
Should be submitted once per institution
Please identify the primary point of contact who will communicate with InventOR staff (Stacey + team) throughout the cycle.
There are two Innovation Jam–specific forms, depending on your role:
Host Institutions: If your institution is hosting the Innovation Jam (single- or multi-day), please complete this form to officially register your event(s) and begin the vendor onboarding process.

You will be asked to provide:
Event date(s) & location
Regional partner schools
Primary contact(s)
Budget overview (reimbursable costs)

All Participants: For all students, alumni, mentors, judges, staff, and community members, etc. participating in an Innovation Jam.
👉 Complete this FORM: Regional Innovation Jam – REGISTRATION (All Participants)
Captures required demographic and participation data for grant reporting
Supports statewide metrics and impact tracking
Must be completed by every person participating
Marketing Assets and a QR code will be provided to help you ensure all participants complete this form before or during the event.
Once the Event Description & Budget Proposal form is submitted, PSU will begin onboarding your institution into the vendor system (via PaymentWorks). Completing onboarding early ensures your reimbursement is processed promptly after the event.
You will receive instructions and links to submit:
Required vendor documentation
W-9 & Direct Deposit forms
Any other financial/tax documents (as needed)

With registration and onboarding underway, begin event planning and preparation. You’ll find a wide range of tools and resources available to help you run a successful event.

Programmatic support is available throughout the cycle. Direct all inquiries to Stacey Hoshimiya – Director, InventOR & PSU Center for Entrepreneurship (s.hoshimiya@pdx.edu)
Coordinate across partner schools and delegate responsibilities
Contact Stacey to arrange an in-person presentation or info session to recruit participants
Promote the event using email, social media, faculty networks, and student organizations
👉 Please ensure you capture:
Photos, video, and quotes if possible (optional but highly encouraged for storytelling and reporting)
Attendance/check-in, and confirm all participants have completed the Regional Innovation Jam – REGISTRATION (All Participants) form
Awardee information, including:
Overall Innovation Jam Winners (1st & 2nd)
InventOR Finalist Teams from each participating school (1st & 2nd)
Record final expenditures & collect receipts
After your Innovation Jam concludes, Host Institutions must submit a final report and invoice to receive reimbursement.

You will be asked to upload:
Brief Event Outcomes and Highlights
Final Attendance List
Awardee Information
Final Invoice and all required supporting documents
Once received:
PSU’s Financial Specialist will review and verify materials
Reimbursement will be processed within 3 weeks (after verification)
These final submissions are critical for:
Accurate grant and sponsor reporting
Demonstrating statewide impact
Securing continued and expanded funding for experiential entrepreneurship education across Oregon
