What is an Innovation Jam?
What is an Innovation Jam?
Innovation Jams empower students from rural and underserved communities by expanding access to entrepreneurship education, strengthening regional capacity, and enhancing support for innovation. These dynamic, design-and-build sprint workshops cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, connect students with mentors and resources, and serve as a structured pathway to advance their ideas through the InventOR program.

What is the InventOR Program?
InventOR is Oregon’s statewide collegiate invention program that empowers students to turn ideas into real-world solutions. Rooted in design thinking, rapid prototyping, and storytelling, the program helps students build the mindset and skills needed to launch impactful ventures.
Partner colleges and universities host local qualifying events, with top teams advancing to the InventOR Finals where they receive a $2K prototyping grant, mentorship, and compete for $30,000 in prizes.
For schools without a local competition, Regional Innovation Jams serve as feeder events, creating equitable access for students to join the InventOR pathway and represent their institution at the state level.
