Roxana is one of the first people in her family to attend a four year institution and she aims to earn a bachelor's degree of science as a geology major. She is interested in applying her knowledge to reduce the pollution concerning low income communities. As part of the LSAMP Research Scholars Program, she is currently working on identifying the distribution and effects of contaminants like microplastics, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals. Her main focus right now is Metolachlor and learning how species and communities are being affected. The aim of the research is conserving marine life and habitat.
