We all have reactions to our experiences and our world, including others with whom we share it. It is important for us to begin with exploring and examining ourselves. This allows us to understand the ways certain ideas, systems and forces influence our thinking and actions.
There are four reactions to examine. These tool are to help us become aware of our cultural frame, binary thinking the areas we don't see, and how our assumptions and defences create barriers to our efforts to become anti-racist, anti-oppressive advocates and allies.
Allyship develops on a continuum of of action, and it begins with building critical consciousness about oneself.
