Stig Digs In

READING

LOW INTERMEDIATE

Stig is a quirky dog in Portland who dreams of writing poetry in Paris. But will his dream ever come true?

This short novel for low-intermediate students of English is an extrapolation, exploration, and Portlandification of the original story Max Makes a Million by Maira Kalman, 1990. It works well as a prequel to Alma Strikes a Chord and A Closer Read, or by itself. The book includes vocabulary lists, comprehension questions, discussion prompts, and activity suggestions.
