Getting Lost
The day we got lost in Portland is a day I will always remember. We were new to America, and I went downtown with my kids for the first time and wanted to see bookstores. We were wondering what the buildings were around downtown. We walked around downtown, looking at all the cool shops and food trucks. But after we walked a while, I realized I didn’t know where we were. The streets looked different, and I couldn't find the bookstore. My phone battery was low, and I started to feel nervous. I asked a woman at a coffee shop for help, and she showed me the way on a map. We finally made it to the bookstore and felt so happy and proud. Getting lost was scary, but it helped me learn how kind people can be and how important it is to stay calm.
