My Favorite Time of the Day
By Helen Mai
Each day has three periods of time: morning, afternoon, and evening. I love the morning the most. The early hours are my favorite part of the day because they start with me. There’s nothing better than waking up slowly, watching the sun fill the room. It’s so peaceful and quiet, and looks beautiful outside. I love making myself a cup of coffee and chilling while listening to peaceful songs on the phone. And I’m so much more productive. That’s how I start a day with energy.
How I Spend My Free Time
By Mohammad Akbari
I like to spend my free time doing fun and relaxing things. After work, I often read books. Reading helps me learn new things and I enjoy stories. Sometimes I watch movies or listen to music. On weekends, my wife sings and that makes me feel happy and calm.
I like to go outside and play volleyball with my friends. I also like playing soccer or badminton. I have a lot of fun!
True Friend from Viego
My friend’s name is Hugo, and he is very calm and friendly. He is 34 years old and has always been someone I can count on. I appreciate him a lot because when I was hospitalized in Miami, he helped my during my recovery. Now, we both live temporarily in Nicaragua for two months before our return to Oregon, where he manages a small agricultural machinery business. We met about ten years ago in my hometown, El Viejo, and we have been good friends ever since. On weekends, we like to get together, share some drinks, and talk about our work and families. I feel lucky to have a friend like Hugo, who always is kind, loyal, and supportive.
