Course Description: This course includes the study of the scientific method, cellular chemistry, cell structure and function, principles of inheritance, and laboratory skills. Includes topics and skills required to continue to anatomy and physiology and microbiology.
Analyze their individual thinking and learning styles & how their styles can be integrated with methods used in science.
Use an understanding of biological and chemical principles of cell function as a base for further learning in the health sciences.
Build on laboratory research experience to organize data and information in order to draw conclusions and identify new investigative paths.
Use scientific vocabulary and an understanding of the scientific method to critically evaluate current health issues in our society.
Prerequisites: IRW 115 or (WR 115 and RD 115), and (MTH 65 or MTH 98) or equivalent placement.

Lab: Tuesdays, 1:00pm-3:50pm at Southeast SCOM 300
In this class, your homework will be to learn the lecture material online by watching videos and answering study guide questions. Our in-person class time will be spent solving practice problems and completing assessments. This format will ensure that you can re-watch lectures as needed and that I will be available to help you on the more difficult parts of our course in person. Each week, you must complete the lecture assignments before coming to class.
