Lecture Assessments
Lecture assignments will include in-person group lecture quizzes/activities (including worksheets, games, and quizzes), online lecture homework assignments, and lecture exams.
Lecture quizzes/activities (8 total, lowest dropped) = 175 points (25 points each)
Online lecture work (17 total) = 170 points (10 points each)
Exams (3 total) = 300 points (100 points each)
Total points = 645
Lab Assessments
Lab assignments will include pre-labs, lab packets, lab quizzes, and lab exams.
Lab Practical Exam = 75 points
Quizzes (9 total, lowest score dropped) = 200 points (25 points each)
Pre-labs (9 total, lowest score dropped) = 40 points (5 points each)
Lab Project = 40 points
Total points = 355
Extra Credit
Students may earn 3 points of extra credit for completing the Syllabus quiz, and 4 points of extra credit for each study guide they complete. There are three study guides available. All study guides must be submitted online or in person before each exam. Total possible extra credit points = 15 points.
Online homework will be worth 10 points each and will contain videos, as well as 5-20 questions, including multiple choice, short answer, and fill in the blank, and must be completed BEFORE coming to class, according to the due dates in D2L.
Lecture quizzes will be worth 25 points each and will consist of quizzes, games, or worksheets to be completed as a group during lecture and will be submitted during class. Answers will be discussed in class and help will be available from the instructor and peers. The lowest lecture quiz score will be dropped.
There will be three (3) lecture exams each worth 100 points and one (1) lab practical exam worth 75 points. Exams will always be completed in person in the classroom, according to the school policy for Bi112 courses. You may not collaborate during exams; answers must reflect your individual learning and effort. Exams will consist of application-based multiple choice and short answer questions.
Pre-labs are worth 5 points and must be completed before coming to lab. I will check everyone's pre-lab in class at the beginning of our lab period. The lowest pre-lab score will be dropped.
Lab quizzes will be worth 25 points each and will be completed in person, according with our campus policy for Bi112 courses. They will contain 5-10 short answer questions. Grades will be posted online by the end of the week. The lowest lab quiz score will be dropped.
This project is worth 40 points. There will be twelve (12) Microworld drawings due in our 9th week. Details will be provided in class.
