Diversity and Inclusion Statement
In this class, every student is valued and honored. We all have important contributions to make, and we all deserve to be celebrated for our differences.
My goal is to create a learning environment that supports a diversity of thoughts, perspectives, and experiences, and honors your identities, including race, ethnicity, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, academic background, financial stability, etc.
As participants in this course, our goal should be to respect and honor our differences. As part of that goal, if you have pronouns that differ from those you registered with, please let me know. Also, if something was said/posted in our class (by anyone) that made you feel uncomfortable, please talk to me about it. Your feedback will be treated anonymously unless you give me explicit permission to share your name. I will be able to use your anonymous feedback to make a general announcement in class or help you find the resources available to address the situation.

“When we’re talking about diversity, it’s not a box to check. It is a reality that should be deeply felt and held and valued by all of us.” – Ava DuVernay
