We raised money for the ESOL Fund this term. There were jewelry sales, a ceramic sale, and our first-ever walkathon! Students and faculty participated and volunteered at the events. These events take time and careful planning, and we want to thank everyone who helped make them a success. It's inspiring to attend these events because you can feel how much we care about ESOL students and our program!
These fundraising events combined, we raised more than $4000!
Our next Jewelry Sale is in December. We are now accepting jewelry donations for the sale. Please email luciana.diniz@pcc.edu to learn how to donate.
At our first-ever walkathon, 30 people showed up and walked. Teachers from different campuses, students, friends, neighbors, and our class volunteers gathered on a Saturday to walk the track for 2 hours and raise money for the ESOL fund. Many walkers completed 3 or more miles. It was a huge success!
The ESOL Fund gives scholarships to students who need help to pay for their classes and books. The committee receives many applications every term! With the success of these fundraising events, there will be funds for future scholarships. Yay!
