Food tickets for JS Families can be picked up Tuesday or Wednesday after school.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ~ 1 Cor. 13:4-7
"That We May Become Perfectly One" ~ John 17:23
To help make your Night Market experience go smoothly for your family, here are some things you can do:
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY PREP
Bring hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent. The sun will still be out until 9 p.m. and the bugs may become more active as it gets darker.
FOOD ORDER PICK-UP
Make sure you have your food tickets. Stick the envelope in a bag or your car, once you get them.
Each vendor or station has a different colour assigned to them. If you group your tickets by colour, you can quickly redeem them all at once, at the appropriate station and not have to line up there again.
Bring a few trays or medium-sized Amazon delivery boxes from home to make it easier to pick up orders from food stations for your family.
Hot Food Items - If you already have your tickets and you need to pick up your hot food items to go (e.g. hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, samosas) we suggest that you walk to the event area from the north driveway entrance off Renfrew Drive, where the Early Learning Centre (ELC) is. This will allow you to get to those food stations directly. PLEASE do not park your car at 275 Renfrew.
WASTE DISPOSAL
Please dispose of all trash, food waste and recyclables in the appropriate bins at the school. (e.g. wooden skewers and compostable plastics such as drink straws go into the garbage bin, plastic bubble tea cups can go into recycling, used napkins and tapioca pearls can go into the green compost bin) To figure out what goes where, click here.
Do not leave any litter on the property or parking lots of our neighbours, as this could affect whether they permit us to use their spaces again in the future.
LEFTOVERS
There's no shame in taking home leftovers or helping PaC buy up any remaining food to eat the next day. We don't want there to be any food waste. We'd like for everyone to try a bit of everything. Just bring along a few plastic containers from home or some "Ziploc" bags for easy transport.
BRING CASH
Bring cash, if you might want extra food or drinks or if you think your child might want to play some carnival-type games or get a balloon animal or flower. A game pass is $3 and a balloon sculpture is $2. NEW ADDITION: We will also be offering some limited foil character balloon wands for sale for $5 each, if you want to show your party spirit!
CAMP CHAIRS AND CANOPY TENTS ARE WELCOME
We'll have tables and chairs set up outside but feel free to bring your own comfy, portable camp chair to use in the Rear Parking Area near the playground -- away from food lines and pedestrian traffic. You can even bring your own canopy tent as shelter in the back. Please label all your belongings to avoid mix-ups or items left behind.
