Parts of the hydraulic bench
The fabrication of the MechaTech Hydraulic Bench was done with all the dimensions of the computer aided design. An error in the design meant an error in the final creation. During the fabrication process, it was observed after placing a fluid mechanics equipment apparatus on the fabricated support frame that the space between the c-channel was too wide. This meant that the spacing in the CAD software was wrong and so the fabrication process was slowed down as the c-channel had to be adjusted.

Details of description
The hydraulic benches are mostly rectangular shaped to give them firm balance on the ground. They are also rightly sized to fit the purpose of being able to carry the equipment that is used to carry out fluid mechanics experiments. The height extends to about the waist level of an average human and the rollers have a lock to keep the equipment fixed in a position.
What are we doing differently to solve problems of previous benches
In our design we put a sink under the section where the apparatus is to be seated so as to collect the water that will be dropping vertically downwards when carrying out an experiment. The main supply tank is situated such that it collects all the jet outflow from the apparatus and the seating of the apparatus is made by an angle iron to prevent the apparatus from moving across the seating hence acting as a stopper.
The foots of the apparatus are usually made of rubber to enable friction and avoid slippage. On our hydraulic bench, the apparatus can be positioned anywhere within the length of the bench in order to accommodate the length of the jet out flow.
All components of the design were chosen with their strengths and other mechanical properties in mind in order to ensure that the Hydraulic bench is as efficient and as safe as possible. From the results of a stress analysis done on the design using a CAD software, it can be observed from the result that the design is feasible and safe and that each material is able to withstand the different forces that would be acting on it during its operation.
Flow Cycle
The design was then brought to life during the fabrication process. Above the equipment is a fluid mechanics Apparatus. The final product was tested and leakage problems were identified and solved
