Pomeroy's counseling program goals are to create a program to meet the needs of all stakeholders. SMART goals are created using data collection from observations, academic performance, parent needs assessment, staff needs assessment, attendance reports and the campus improvement plan. Reviewing all the data will aid the school counselor in identifying areas of strength and those in need of change.
Last year many of our events were held virtually due to Covid. Our parents were excited to attend and participate in the year's agenda. However, we ended up struggling with attendance due to our parent's lack of familiarity with the technology. After having gone through these experiences with our parents, a need for more training with parents accessing our Pasadena ISD portal and applications was discussed. At the end of the school year the CAC will evaluate the counseling program's SMART goals by utilizing observations, academic performance, parent needs assessment, staff needs assessment, attendance reports, and the campus improvement plan. All findings will be shared with stakeholders to help plan for the following year and make adjustments as needed to continue the success of the students in the Pomeroy community.
