8/20/20 Remind Website UPDATE FROM VICKIE VALLET
Pasadena ISD is rolling out Remind district-wide! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it is a classroom messaging tool that helps you engage students and parents every day. Here is a resource to familiarize yourself with what is coming.
Pasadena educators will have the ability to make phone calls through Remind [while masking your personal cell phone number]. However, this will operate differently than the Google Voice option we have recently used. Teachers will not have a dedicated phone number to share with parents and students, however they will still be able to call you within your office hours via the Remind App or by calling the personalized proxy number assigned to them. More information on voice calling can be found on our Remind FAQ document
As part of this rollout, official accounts will be created for all the educators, parents, and students in PISD. Starting Aug 20, Remind will be sending out emails to claim your account. (If you don't see it, please check your Barracuda Spam Filter in the portal.pasadenaisd.org/ )
Follow the steps in the email to set up your account on Remind. If you already have an account, you'll be prompted to merge it so you can keep all of your information in one place. Once you have merged or accepted your account you will be able to use it immediately. However, if your parents have not used Remind before, it is suggested that you communicate through your regular channels with parents/guardians about Remind, before using.
While the I&D department will be offering training sessions for Remind (sessions will be posted on the Remind page of the Innovation & Development site and in Eduphoria) you can get started learning about Remind using the FAQ and the information on the site. The training sessions will be walking you through how to use Remind, so please make sure you've set up your account .
Action Items for Remind:
Watch for an email from Remind starting Aug 20. (If you haven’t received an email by Wednesday, August 26, please use the Technology Work Order System to enter a ticket under [Software/Applications - Remind - Remind-Teacher Account help]
Follow the steps in email to accept or Merge Accounts if you already have a Remind account.

Thank you for your continued patience. Carla has been calling (pressuring) folks daily for MiFi deliveries. She has used her charm to get us some (about 1000) MiFis by 4:30 PM tomorrow.
Please continue to submit your Student MiFi Needs Survey to Blake.
If they arrive tomorrow, Blake and his team are ready. He already has plans in the works to process them over the weekend to be ready to go for pickup.
Confirmation/Clarification: The already issued MiFis will still work until this is all settled. “Old” jetpacks still have service.
