PISD Maintenance Department COVID 19 HVAC Mitigation Plan 8/10/20
Ensure all system air filters are changed with fitted replacement filters, at their designated monthly expiration date. The District is upgrading to a MERV 13 filter, as recommended by the CDC and ASHRAE, in order to increase effectiveness against bacteria and viruses.
Inspect cooling coils and drain pans for cleanliness and continuous drainage of condensate, and correcting deficiencies.
Perform flush out of all HVAC systems by operating HVAC continuously for 24 hours prior to reopening.
Ensure all fresh air dampers serving air handling units and systems are modulating properly, in order to maximize the amount of fresh air the unit is capable of safely providing, while dehumidifying properly.
Avoid operating air handling units in recirculation mode.
Modify daily building schedules to extend run times 2 hours prior to staff/faculty arrival each day. This will allow for approximately (6) complete air changes within a building, and allow more indoor contaminants to be captured within the filtration system.
Modify daily building schedules to extend run times 2 hours after staff/faculty dismissal each day. This will allow for approximately (6) complete air changes within a building, and allow more indoor contaminants to be captured within the filtration system.
Increase monitoring of indoor air quality, and addressing any signs of mold or mildew.
Increase monitoring of humidity levels at all campuses.
Perform weekly audits of every campus within the district, (concentration on operations and efficiency of all AC systems, and monitoring indoor air quality). Four Energy Specialists, each conducting (20) audits per week.

Principals,
In regards to contact tracing on buses, if your campus needs information regarding seating arrangements on buses for a specific days, length of time on the bus etc.., we can pull video to get you that information. This may be a more confidential way of communicating than to ask a driver specifically about any scenarios. We can send videos or we can send snapshots of who was riding and where they were sitting. We can also let you know specific route pick up and drop off times. It is also a useful tool to insure that face coverings were being worn during the ride. Ridership varies from day to day, so seating assignments may vary slightly each day as we try to social distance as much as possible on buses. We can also follow up with drivers for more information. Please communicate with one of the following if you have contact tracing needs on buses:
Robert Stock- Director (RStock@pasadenaisd.org)
Jim Jacobs- Assistant Director (JJacobs@pasadenaisd.org)
Cindy Resendez – Regular Education Supervisor (CResendez2@pasadenaisd.org)
Esmeralda Davila – Special Education Supervisor (EMDavila@pasadenaisd.org)
Thanks,
Robert Stock
