High School Co-op Program Offers Real-World Experience and Opportunities
At PMHS, the Career Prep (co-op) class is an exceptional opportunity for students balancing work and academics. Spearheaded by the talented Mrs. Geema Moore, this program offers more than just classroom learning.
Co-op allows students with jobs can earn up to two free periods, giving them the flexibility to manage both school and work commitments. Students can join the Business Professionals of America (BPA) club, which grants invaluable real-world experience and the chance to earn certificates.
Participants gain hands-on experience, explore various career options, and develop essential workplace skills like professionalism and teamwork. Building a resume with tangible experience is a significant perk of the program.
The class organizes enriching field trips to local businesses, government agencies, and museums, providing students with insights into different career paths. Whether visiting businesses or university campuses, these excursions offer academic enrichment and a glimpse into potential futures.
Mrs. Moore is adored for her patience and understanding, and is the heart of this program. Her welcoming smile and positive attitude at the classroom door inspire students to persevere and succeed.
