God wants us all to look after each other. God has given us hands, feet, mouth, a mind, eyes so that we can be a gift to others by always being supportive to everyone, especially people that are in need.
One way of being a support and imitate Jesus, is to stand up to people that are bullying and being abusive to others.
There are different types of bullying too. You might see someone being teased, pushed, always laughed at, always ignored, never asked to join in games and it is important to help that person by talking and being a friend to them. These are some examples of bullying. You can be an up stander by speaking to the people that are being a bully and asking them to stop. You can also be an up stander by speaking to a teacher about what you saw and never join in the bullying, because we are all God's children and he wants us to be happy and not teased and bullied.

It is very important to do your best to be safe at all times. This means, putting your seatbelt on in the car, asking permission from your parents to swim before you jump into the pool, swimming between the flags at the beach, wearing shin pads before you play soccer. It is our responsibility to be safe and also we should always help others be safe too.
Being physically healthy is about physical exercise and eating the right food. We should regularly eat from the five food groups (vegetables, fruits, dairy, grain and meats). Eating too much chocolate, drinking too much soft drinks and sitting around watching too much tv or playing too computer is not good for your health. We have to look after our bodies, as they are a gift from God.

God has created humans to live in society and we are made for relationships (CCC 1879). There are places that the community and schools have made for play such as the school oval, handball courts, parks, indoor centres and many other wonderful places. It is beneficial that we enjoy these places with our friends and families. God wants us to spend time with others and follow the safety rules, so we can have fun and be healthy and safe together. Having fun and playing fair with each other is an excellent way we can be a gift to each other.
It is our responsibility to act in a safe way and look after each other. If some people don't act safely and follow rules then that puts everyone else in danger too. We can be a great gift to everyone by putting safety first. That means wearing helmets when on our bikes, rollerblades and scooters, wearing our seat belts in the car, playing sport fairly and not dangerously.
Our friends often listen to us and can copy our behaviour. We can be a gift to others by being a really good example. If we are healthy and bring fruit, vegetables, healthy sandwiches and drinking lots of water at school, this can show our friends and others the importance of healthy eating. We can encourage our friends as well to eat healthy which has so many benefits.
Other ways we can be a good example, is to help our friends and others with their worries and troubles. If you see your friends or other students worried and troubled, you should encourage them to tell a teacher or parent about it. You should also tell the teacher, as this is being a great gift to them. Also, you could encourage others to pray and maybe take them to the chapel at lunch or say a prayer with them and for them in your own time. These are ways we can help the wellbeing of others, by being a gift to them.

God wants all of us to try to be healthy. Some people are born with certain medical conditions or develop conditions in life. People with allergies might have to eat certain foods or people in wheelchairs might be restricted in going to certain places or some people have to take regular medications due to a certain illness. These are some factors which influence some people's decisions.
Even though people might have these conditions now on Earth, we can be a gift by helping them. Everyone is loved by God unconditionally and in Heaven all our sicknesses go, as it is perfect.
Some substances such as alcohol and tobacco can be harmful to the body. We must look after the body and mind that God has given to us. As a child, alcohol and tobacco is extremely dangerous to the body and mind and therefore is illegal and not allowed.
Sometimes we eat unhealthy food because our friends eat it or it is at home and an easy option. Even though our bodies might crave fast food or snack food, we can say no to our bodies and choose the healthier option of fruit or vegetables. We also might feel like sitting down and just watching tv or the iPad, but the better option can be to play outside or ask Mum or Dad to go to the park. That is better for our health. We can start to think about these good healthy ideas ourselves.
How can I be more healthy?
Physical activity is excellent for your health. God has given us legs, feet, hands, arms, so that we can use it to interact with others. We can be physically active because we have a body and its our responsibility to also look after it the best way we can.
Going to the park, backyard, beach, oval is a wonderful way we can be physically active but also enjoy God's creation which is marvellous. God has created us to have friends and enjoy each others company. Watching tv and playing with the iPad all the time is not the best way to enjoy our friendship with others and also is not good for your health.

Our bodies are an amazing gift from God and can help us know how we are feeling on the inside. We can also recognise other people's feelings from their body reactions. If we see someone shaking, we know they are scared, if we see someone crying, we know they are sad. It is really important that we always help people that are in need.
It is also very important that we recognise when we are feeling unsafe. We should always feel safe and not threatened. If we ever feelings like, we have butterflies in our tummy or feel scared by what someone says or acts towards us, its important we leave and tell your parents, teacher, family or an adult. We should ever keep secrets about something that makes us feel unsafe.
