Sports Medicine
Spark! Sports Medicine is designed for those interested in professions in sports medicine such as athletic training, physical therapy, orthopedics and sports performance. Students will acquire skills to prevent, evaluate, and treat sports injuries. Spark! Sports Medicine will cover a variety of topics including Musculoskeletal Systems, evaluation and treatment, taping and wrapping skills, emergent care and prevention, strength training and nutrition.
Throughout the Spark! Sports Medicine experience, students will connect with local expert healthcare professionals and work with Parkway’s team of Certified Athletic Trainers to engage in fieldwork for authentic observation and skill application.

Projects within and outside of the classroom include:
Design of Athletic Training Room, Rules, Procedures and Emergency Plans
Design of Rehabilitation plans for athletes for specific injuries.
