Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy
The Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy is a one-year course for seniors designed to increase interest in health care by introducing students to a variety of opportunities available in the health care industry. The didactic portion of this course consists of a fundamental curriculum that will prepare students to function safely in the clinical setting. Basic health care skills such as vital signs, CPR, and First Aid will be taught. Students will have clinical shadowing rotations in area hospitals, as well as, attend informational presentations hosted by hospital personnel.
2 CTE Credits (one per semester)
Approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes every other day
Semester 1: Spark! - Mason Ridge Center
Semester 2: Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital or St. Luke’s Hospital
