Welcome to Unit 2! Check Schoology for new due dates! All work done by the end of MP1 (10/31)!
The final exam is a test that covers all content from the year. All content will bo covered roughly equally. Individual questions will likely be easier than what you have seen on individual Unit Tests, but the breadth (amount) of content is very large, which is what makes this test very challenging.
The exam is multiple choice, taken on a Scantron test document
The test will consist of 75 questions
Questions will range in difficulty from simple definitions to complex applications and/or calculations
Questions will be in order of content throughout the year
All questions will count the same towards the final score
The final exam grade for this exam will count as 10% of your final grade for the year (this is similar to other test grades we have. Don't get too concerned!)
The test will be taken in class before the official exam week:
ODD classes - June 4th
EVEN classes - June 5th
Please use the documentation below to help you to prepare for the exam. This style test is very different than tradition tests we take in class, and should be approached carefully. I suggest doing small amounts of prep over a long period of time. You can get away with cramming for a unit test, but not for this! Its too much content! Use the resources below to help you in your preparation.
Final Exam Course Outline - This document outlines all the content we covered throughout the year. This is a great place to start studying to create an inventory of the work that you need to do. Try ranking topics on a scale of your choosing to ID topics you need to spend more/less time on.
Final Exam Review Doc - This document has a battery of sample questions for you to prepare with. This is a great opportunity to test what you can/cannot do leading up to the test. This document is HUGE. You are NOT expected to complete all of it. Instead use this review document to:
ID your strengths and weaknesses by attempting problems similar to exam questions
Develop skills in areas where you are weaker by completing most of the problems in that section
Complete few questions in areas where you are stronger to confirm that you remember the content
Final Exam Review Doc ANSWER Key - this doc has answers with some included work to allow you to check your progress when working with the review document. Be CAREFUL with this answer key. If you could not get to a final answer without peeking, you are NOT ready for the final!! This is a common trap student fall into when preparing, resulting in lower than expected exam grades! This answer key is a work in progress! Check back regularly for updates!
