Technically, the Greeks started the Olympic Games in 776 B.C., until Emperor Theodosius got rid of the Games in 393 A.D. . The games were not always for glory, it was for the many gods in which they worshiped. The first modern day games that started world wide was in 1896. Fast forward to the roaring 20’s Olympic Games.
In 1924 and 1928 were the years the Olympic Games of the 20’s took place, The games were and still are a famous event! Sixteen countries took part in the 1924 Olympics. Even after World War I ended, they still played. The summer events in 1928, the winter events in 1924. Every four years the winter games are held and every four years the summer games are held. The 1924 Winter Games were held in France. There were 258 athletes and 11 were women. The U.S. got one gold medal two silver , and one bronze.
We put our differences aside for a week or two. The Olympic Games are truthfully wonderful I have never seen a little bit of fun and sweat used to get along for a while. So, too be simple, in the 1920’s Thanks to the Greeks wanting to worship there many gods. The fun took off during the roaring 20’s , and there was no emperor to stop it.
