By 1914 Herbert was now a retired multimillionaire and he was around to be 40. When WW1 broke out Hoover was concerned about his charitable activities, So Hoover moved to London England to help repatriate American tourists and other people in need. Hoover’s Election was a phenomenon his rival Canidate was Alfred E. Smith, Al Smith was a Roman Catholic. Everyone was worried that he would follow church rules instead, At the end Herbert Hoover won the Election of 1928. The vote was 444 to 87! During the 1920’s the economy grew rapidly, during WW1 the Gross National Product fell by $91.5 billion to $69.6 billion. Business also improved but at the very end the GNP grew at $103.1 billion.
