As engineers and architects, can we use our talents and passions to leverage technology to meet our communities needs?
How do engineers use their skills every day?
Goal: I can define evaluation criteria to better test and suggest recommendations for high quality designs.
Yesterday we built hoppers. What were the success criteria for the hoppers?
Today we'll make grabbers, what might the success criteria for the grabbers be?
What variables might we be able to change during our grabber investigations today?
We're going to complete the Invention Squad challenge, "Super Clean UP"
To get there go to the Spike website > Click "Spike Prime" (blue one) > Click "Unit Plans" (blue) > Click "Invention Squad" (green) > Click "Super Clean Up"
Here's some tips:
Step 1: Watch the video. Easy peasy.
Step 2: Build Grabbers.
Step 3: Gather litter. Check the recycling bins!
Step 4: Test your grabbers.
Step 5 & 6: Add the tables and scores in your NOTEBOOKS.
Step 7: In your NOTEBOOKS, describe which worked best for what and why.
Pair up with someone from another team and compare your test results. What do your results have in common? How are they different?
Take apart today's build and return to pieces to your Spike kit properly. Remember, we want to leave our kits better than we found them!
