Ally Swisher joined the Pioneer family in 2019. She has over 14 years of experience in teaching and school counseling. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University, a Master’s Degree in Education (English Speakers of Other Languages) from Fort Hays State, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Emporia State University. Within the school setting, Mrs. Swisher will only utilize counseling techniques that fall under the scope of the Comprehensive School Counseling Program.
Mrs. Swisher’s passion is connecting with, encouraging, and empowering children to understand and experience their true worth, and to thrive emotionally, academically, and socially. When Mrs. Swisher is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two young daughters, and her husband. Her favorite activities are being outdoors, playing sports, trying new foods, and watching K-State sports and the Green Bay Packers.

The School Counseling program at Prairie Point Elementary is based on the American School Counseling Association Model and our district standards. It includes a variety of services for ALL students and is designed to assist with interests and issues related to the stages of student growth in the areas of academic, career, personal, emotional, and social development. The following services will be offered for the 2022-23 school year:
• Small group counseling sessions, with parent permission, for students focusing on: divorce, grief, anxiety, study skills, friendship/social skills, and emotion regulation. If you feel that your child needs assistance in any of these areas please let me know.
• Individual meetings to help students adjust to school or help with personal issues on an as needed basis.
• Classroom counseling lessons with emphasis on personal/social skills, bullying prevention, problem solving, safety, academic development (study skills), and career awareness. I see every class in the building twice once a month.
• Referral assistance to other programs and services in the community.
