THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE PROGRAM @ BCC

The College Experience Program is intended as a mechanism for high school seniors with an overall grade point average of 3.0 to pursue advanced education at an early stage in their academic life. Eligible students will be permitted to take up to six (6) credits during the Fall or Spring semesters and up to eight (8) credits during the Summer sessions. Contact collegeexperience@bergen.edu for more info.

BERGEN PREP PROGRAM @ BCC

The Bergen Prep Program is a unique educational opportunity designed to provide high school seniors with a true college experience by earning academic credits during the early afternoon hours on a Bergen Community College campus. BCC Prep students attend their high school classes in the morning and then take afternoon classes at Bergen.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Students are responsible for all tuition, costs and fees incurred by attending the college or university.

  • As appropriate, a schedule will be developed at the high school to accommodate the college class schedule.

  • A one-semester, 3-credit college course will earn 2.5 high school credits and will count as such in total credits taken in grade 12.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to request the college send a college transcript to the PHS School Counseling Office at the end of each semester of attendance.

  • The college course and grade will then become part of the high school transcript.
