There are a number of students in the Paramus Public Schools with severe food and/or latex allergies, some of which may be life-threatening.
In order to ensure that all students can participate safely and fully in classroom activities, we ask that parents/guardians speak with their child(ren) about the importance of not trading or sharing food, utensils, or food containers and about being respectful and mindful of classmates with allergies.
In addition, latex balloons of any kind are not permitted in school buildings or on school property. Mylar balloons are acceptable.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
For students with identified allergies, the school nurse will develop an Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan as appropriate. Please refer to the care plan template.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school nurse.
