Google Notification

Students will use their Google for Education G Suite accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, sign into their Chromebooks, and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills.

As part of the Google for Education program, each student will be provided an email address within the paramusschools.org domain. This email will allow the students PK-3 to sign in to their Chromebook and to communicate with teachers. Grade 4-8 students can also communicate with advisors, coaches, and classmates within the Paramus Public School system. High school students are able to email individuals outside of the system. Please be advised that the students should use their G Suite and email for school work only. Email is monitored by the district and is subject to filtering of inappropriate content. Students are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations for email use as outlined in the Technology Agreement.

Using their G Suite for Education accounts, students may access and use the following “Core Services” offered by Google: Gmail, Calendar, Chrome Sync, Classroom, Cloud Search, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive, Groups, Hangouts, Hangouts Chat, Hangouts Meet, Google Talk, Jamboard, Keep, Sites, Vault. In addition, students will be provided with access to additional Google services with their G Suite for Education accounts (e.g., YouTube, Blogger, Google Maps).

Social networking should be conducted outside of the Google domain. Any inappropriate use of email or other Google Apps will be addressed according to the standards and consequences established in the school’s Code of Conduct.

When students graduate or move out-of-district, they will have temporary access to their Gmail and Google Drive to download files that they wish to keep or transfer to another account.
