District Computer Facilities Use

1. This agreement remains in force as long as I make use of Paramus Schools' computing facilities or services.

2. I will only use the software to which I have been granted express rights by the school.

3. When a computer account name and/or password is provided to me, I will only use these personally and will take the responsibility to protect my account from unauthorized access. I will not give my personal account name and/or password to anyone and will take steps to prevent others from learning my account name and/or password. If I become aware of attempts to violate or bypass computer security mechanisms, I will promptly report such attempts to my instructor or school principal.

4. I will respect the privacy of information stored with the Paramus Schools' computing facilities. I will not acquire, copy, replace, or modify--in any way--information that belongs to another person.

5. In using the computing facilities, products, programs or documentation present on Paramus Schools' computing facilities, I agree not to copy, disclose, modify, transfer, or violate the terms of any software materials that are subject to any patent, copyright or license restrictions. I will not violate the terms of any applicable local, state or federal laws that may apply to any software materials.

6. I will not copy unauthorized software onto the local drive or onto the network drive. I will not attempt to copy, remove, alter, or replace data or software programs used for the operation of the computer facilities or remote computer facilities to which the Paramus Schools' system is attached.

7. I will not attempt to obtain system or user names or passwords.

8. I will not attempt to secure a higher level of privilege on the computer facilities.

9. I will not access Paramus Schools' computing facilities to access other computing facilities to which Paramus Schools are connected without appropriate approval(s) to do so.

10. I will not attempt to "crash" network systems or programs or attempt to introduce "viruses" or disruptive and destructive programs into the organization network or into external networks.

11. I agree to use Paramus Schools' computing facilities only for the purposes for which they were intended, as outlined in the Internet Safety and Technology Policy. I understand that violation of any provision of this Agreement will result in punitive actions that may include denial of access to Paramus Schools' computing facilities, suspension from school. Criminal charges may be sought, if appropriate.

12. I will not attempt to access any Internet sites that are offensive or inappropriate. If I become aware of attempts to violate or access these sites, I will promptly report such attempts to my instructor or school principal.
