Where does the learning happen in Visual Art?

Visual Art Examples

DOK1= Draw, label, and a color wheel.

DOK2= The student will compare/contrast two different styles of art.

DOK3= The student will assess the use of colors to portray a mood in a work of art.

DOK4= The student will identify two artworks that express social injustice and then create their own artwork appropriating elements of art and principles of design used by those artists.

Create- Creating unique, expressive works of art

Evaluate- Self-critique of work, peer critique of work. Self-assessment using the Class Art Rubric.

Analyzing - Critique of famous works of art, breaking down the piece of art into part ,and understanding how each part is related to one another to create a balanced, unified piece of art.

Applying - Using knowledge and new skills to create in new ways.

Understanding - Making sense of the material you have learned by creating more advanced pieces of work.

Remembering - recalling relevant information from long term memory, such as the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.
