Fractions

We are learning to:

• recognise the symbols for  ½, ⅓ and ¼ and explain what they mean.

• compare and explain halves, quarters, and thirds using visuals and materials.

• Find fractions of a group of objects by sharing materials (1/2, 1/4, 1/3).

We are learning to:

• read any fraction including fractions greater than 1

• find fractions of whole numbers 

– For example 1/2, 1/4, 1/3, 1/5 THEN 3/4, 2/3, 2/5

• Count forwards and backwards in ½’s, ¼’s, 1/3’s, 1/5’s and 1/10’s
