Open a Google document - write a few paragraphs discussing the aerobic training you have completed
How have you overloaded your aerobic system? - explain what you did
How do you know you overloaded the aerobic system? What happened to your respiratory and circulatory system that makes you think it was overloaded
Why does overloading your aerobic system make you a better touch player?
Write two paragraphs about the touch game last night
Do this in a google document and place it in your 1TCH folder in drive
Introduction
The position I played last night in the touch game against Alfriston was __________. My job in this position was to_______________.
Paragraph 1
Statement: The interpersonal skill I used in this game was communication.
Explanation: explain why and how you did this
Xample: What did you say, and what effect did this have.
Paragraph 2
Statement: I would rate my communication last night as a _____ out of 10.
Explanation: Why
Xample: Next game I will improve by..........
Statement: There are many impacts of having good communication in touch Rugby
Explain
Xample
Your Opinion
Statement: I Co-operated and worked together with __________
Explain:
Xample
The effect of working with _________________ was
Explain
Xample
Statement: On Tuesday at touch, I was at a level ____ of social Responsibilty
Explain: Why/how (multiple paragraphs)
Xample: Specifically when did this happen, Who, when, what was said, what was done
Statement: To get to a level ___, I need to _______________
Explain: Why,how
Xample, When, where
Statement: During touch practice my team decided to do a move called ___________.
Explain: Why and how do you do this move
Xample: What happened and what was the outcome
Statement: To complete this move I had to be at a level 4 of social responsibility
Explain: Why
Xample: What speciacally did you have to do?
Make a video of yourself performing a quickie or movement skill.
Take the two videos. One from front on, one from side on
Upload the video into your vidalyze account. Tip: You may need to create a dropbox account as it seems to work better from this
Analyze your quickie video using vidalyze and take screenshots
Was your quickie executed on the 7 metre line?
Did you target the correct player?
Was your dummy-half aware, in position and ready for the play
Approah lane
Did you get to the side of the defender?
Ball Placement
Did you place the ball correctly?
Defence Body position
Did you disrupt the balance of the defender?
Offence body position
Did you stay strong and balanced when you dumped the ball?
Sequence of movement
Did you split the Short side?
Fast touch down
Did you finish well?
Correct final option
Did you beat him short side, or did you step back in and was that the correct option?
Dive
Did you need to dive and dive correctly
Balance and stability are important. The more balanced you are the more force you produce. This means you can screen off the toucher propelling yourself away from them. You can also direct your forces better enablingyou to split properly and be in the correct position to receive the ball back
Watch the way that you dump the ball for your quickieIdentify aspects of your balance and stability that you do well, and aspects you don't do well.
Broaden base of support
Lower center of gravity
Center line of gravity going through base of support
Compensation
1. As many muscles and joints as possible
2. Order - big to small
3. Timing
4. Use full range of motion in joints
5. Fully extend in follow through phase
Make a screencast as I have, or take screenshots, identifying the aspects of Force summation you are using in your quickie. If you are not using these explain what you should be doing instead
Key things to consider in your writing
Short powersteps (using the big muscles in your body to produce force)
High knee lift (full range of motion in hip and knee to then extend out with more force
Check for a dive. (A dive will involve all principles of force summation as you will be using your entire body to produce the force)
Law 1. Inertia
Law 2. Force = Mass x Acceleration
Law 3. Action Reaction
Explain these three laws. Give one example of each and how they relate to touch
Discuss how principles of projectile motion affect the learning and success of you performing a touch spiral pass
Points that could be Discussed
Speed
Air resistance
Gravity
Height of release
Angle of release
Angle of attack
Spin
explain the adaptions that occur to the respiratory and circulatory system as a result of the overload that happens from playing touch
Playing touch overloads the aerobic systems in my body. This means the system is placed under stress. As a result, physiological adaptions occur as a response to this overload. I will go through and explain these adaptions and how they are revelvant to improved touch performance.
Circulatory system
Cardiac hypertrophy; increased stroke volume (SV); decrease in resting heart rate (HR); increase in maximum cardiac output (Q); capillarisation at the lungs and muscles; increase in number of red blood cells; increased size and strength of the heart; drop in resting blood pressure due to more elastic muscular wall of veins and arteries
Respiratory system
Increased vital capacity; increased number of functioning alveoli; increased strength of the respiratory muscles (internal and external intercostals and diaphragm); increased lung capacity and volume
Activity (copy and paste this into a google doc and organise into your PED drive folder)
Play touch Think about what happens to your circulatory and respiratory system when you exercise
1. What happens to your breathing rate (Inspiration/expiration)?
2. what happens to the amount of air you breathe in and out each breath (tidal volume)?
3. What happens to your heart rate?
4. What happens to the veins (blood vessels). Can you see them more clearly? Why
5. What happens to the colour of your face? Why do you think it changes colour?. (consider capillaries)
6. Do you sweat? Why, how does sweating help?
Explain an attacking strategy that we have used in touch? Choose between a blues or a 32 peel
Explain how the move works. Where on the field do you do the move? What does each player do? What are the different options that are available?
What are the key points to completing the move successfully?
Explain specifically a time in a game that you have completed the move. Specifically explain what you did. Did you do it well? What modifications do you need to make?
Explain comprehensively are the outcomes of the move?
Explain the defensive policy that we have used in our touch team? Corner and shut
Explain how the policy works?
What are the technical key points?
Explain specifically a time in a game that you have implemented the policy. Specifically explain what you did. Did you do it well? What modifications do you need to make?
Explain comprehensively are the outcomes of the policy?

Explain how the pattern works?
What are the technical key points?
Explain specifically a time in a game that you have implemented the pattern? Specifically explain what you did. Did you do it well? What modifications do you need to make?
Explain comprehensively are the outcomes of the pattern? Why do we do it? What are we trying to achieve?

Buddha
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
Sharon Salzberg
“Mindfulness isn’t difficult, we just need to remember to do it.”
Eckhart Tolle
“Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry—all forms of fear—are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
Wayne Dyer
“You’ll seldom experience regret for anything that you’ve done. It is what you haven’t done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you’ve lost them forever.”
