Dear Secondary Families,
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break. It has been wonderful to see our students return this week with renewed energy and enthusiasm for the weeks ahead.
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our Student-Involved Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conversations are such an important part of each student’s learning journey, helping them reflect on their progress and set meaningful goals for the term ahead. Your partnership and engagement make a tremendous difference.
We are also excited to invite parents to take part in our upcoming Career Day. This is always a highlight for our students, as it gives them the chance to hear directly from professionals across various fields, ask questions, and envision their own future pathways. If you are interested in sharing your career story or offering a short session with our students, please reach out to us—we would love to have you involved.
Looking ahead, our students are preparing to celebrate Loy Krathong and Thai Language and Culture Day on Tuesday, 04 November. These celebrations will be thoughtfully organised in recognition of the country’s period of mourning following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Mother Sirikit. It will be a meaningful day for our community to come together in appreciation of Thailand’s rich traditions and deep cultural heritage.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and collaboration. The second half of the term promises to be full of learning, creativity, and connection.
Best wishes,
Kru Daiju
Dear Panyaden Community,
We are excited to announce that a Buddhist Nun will be visiting our campus next week. Sister Jayavira, originally from Malaysia, received the Going Forth (Pabbajjā) as a Sīladharā with Ajahn Amaro as her preceptor in July 2019. She will be joining us on Thursday, 07 November, and Friday, 08 November.
(You can read more about the Siladhara Order in this Forest Sangha newsletter from 2007.)
During her visit, Sister Jayavira will join the Alms Round on both days, visit classrooms in Early Years, Primary, and Secondary, and lead meditation and Q&A sessions for staff and students.
Parents and community members are warmly invited to attend the Alms Round, which will begin at 08:20, immediately after the National Anthem.
Early Years and Primary families: Thursday, 7 November
Secondary families: Friday, 08 November
We kindly ask that all visitors to campus refrain from taking photographs or using mobile devices during the Alms Round. This is a shared opportunity for us to come together, practise mindfulness, and be fully present with each other and our children.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kru Max at w.max@panyaden.ac.th
Panyaden warmly invites all parents with experience across various fields to be a part of the "Career Day" program, sharing knowledge and inspiring stories with our students. We recognise that your real-world professional experience is an invaluable resource that will ignite dreams, provide realistic perspectives, and offer clear guidance, enabling our students to confidently decide on their future educational and career paths. Your participation is a crucial step in connecting the classroom to reality and helping prepare our youth for growth and success in a rapidly changing world. I’m excited for you to join us!
The format for participation is flexible, and we offer engaging options designed for maximum student impact. When you sign up, you can choose the session format that best fits your style:
1) Hands-on Mini-Lab (a quick, practical activity like teaching a design concept or using a specific tool),
2) Career Myth-Busting (a dynamic interview format challenging common stereotypes about your job),
3) The Skill Showcase (a 15-minute demonstration of a relevant skill, followed by open Q&A),
4) Speed Networking (a fast-paced session where small student groups ask you targeted questions), or
5) Present about your job (20-40 minutes).
If you wish to be a part of driving the students' future and dedicating time to your child's educational community, please express your interest and provide details of the profession or experience you wish to share via the online form. Dear Secondary Students and Parents,
Get ready for a challenge worthy of heroes!
We are ecstatic to announce that the Secondary School Annual Play for 2025-2026 is the legendary Greek epic: THE ODYSSEY! This isn't just a play; it's an EPIC JOURNEY requiring cunning, commitment, and courage.
We are calling on all PASSIONATE & DILIGENT DRAMA ENTHUSIASTS to join the adventure. Are you ready to Unleash Your Inner Hero?
The Odyssey is arguably the greatest epic ever told. Choosing this classic is a deliberate challenge for our students:
Master the Classics: This production is a demanding opportunity to perform a timeless story that has shaped Western literature. Students will tackle complex language and mythical characters, pushing their performance skills to a new level.
A Lesson in Resilience: The story of Odysseus is one of perseverance against impossible odds, facing monsters, navigating temptations, and battling divine wrath. Students will internalize and embody these crucial life skills.
Spectacle & Design: The technical scope is massive! From the one-eyed Cyclops and the enchanting Sirens to stormy seas and grand palaces, the Production ensemble will have incredible creative license to master stagecraft, lighting, and sound design.
Join the Crew: Roles & Commitment
We need dedicated students for both sides of the stage! Join the Secondary School Theatre Club for Seasons 2 and 3
A Critical Note on Commitment: This is an ambitious production. We expect all students who join the Theatre Club to commit fully from the start of Season 2 right through to the Final Performance in April. Dedication is key to success!
Action: Students should contact Kru Vineet or reach-out to the AAD team to sign up by the deadline.
Parents: Be Part of the Epic!
We invite parents to lend their talents and become essential members of our Production Crew! Your expertise can directly shape the visual and technical splendor of the show.
We are specifically looking for volunteers to assist with:
Design: Costume, Props, Hair & Makeup
Backstage: Stage Hand coordination and support
Technical: Light and Sound operation/control
Movement: Choreography assistance
Action: Parents interested in volunteering should email Kru Vineet (s.vineet@panyaden.ac.th) to express your interest and area of expertise!
Don't miss the ship! Join us, and let's create a theatre experience our community will never forget.

Our school is pleased to offer free organic fertiliser, produced entirely from on-campus food waste, to the Panyaden community. We transform food scraps into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. This natural fertiliser improves soil quality, and reduces the need for synthetic garden chemicals.
You are welcome to collect the fertiliser from the designated areas at both the Primary School and Secondary School parent salas.
Please feel free to take some home and enjoy the benefits in your garden!
Dear Panyaden Secondary students, teachers, and families,
Hi! I’m Angel from Year 13. A year ago, I founded the project SheReads, which provides lessons in English and Mandarin to the girls at Baandek Bunthong Orphanage, a girl’s orphanage in Mae Rim. You might recall having seen or donated to them this year in Feburary, where we invited them to join our PYD Fair.
What began as a service project evolved into something bigger, and we began to visit these girls not just to teach, but to connect.
As a service project that’s a part of CAS, this project is done the moment that we graduate. However, as a student of Panayden and the International Baccalaereate program, I know the importance of Metta and being a caring learner. These two concepts are what drove me to continue this project - it’s not just a homework assignment, it’s our duty as members of the community.
Most of our group is due to graduate next year. So, we are looking for compassionate, responsible people to take over the torch and continue leading this project.
Don’t worry, I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way! I’ll be taking you along on our visits, introducing you to the girls, and teaching you to navigate the customized APP that we use to teach. Even after graduation, I can still use this APP to videocall and help you teach Mandarin or English.
If you believe in the power of education, in helping others, and making a long-lasting impact, I invite you to step up. Let’s show that the 12 Wise Habits isn’t something we’re taught, it’s something we live.
Let’s make a difference for these hard-working, eager-learning girls.
Looking forward to your application,
The SheReads Team
