LAS Links Fall Testing - 9/15-10/10: Participation is required for ELs in grades 3–11 (SDD 1), with the option to include additional ELs (K2–12) by submitting an interest form. Licenses are limited, so submit requests early. School Leaders, Coordinators, and proctors should review the BPS Guide to LAS Links Administration and attend an Administration Overview training on 9/10 or 9/17 to prepare for fall testing. Designed to assess and monitor students' progress in learning English.
Specifically focuses on evaluating how well students understand and use English language.
Provides educators with valuable insights to personalize instruction, offer feedback, and effectively support students' linguistic development.
Grades 3-11, SDD 1, ELs: Required
Grades K2-1, SDD 1, ELs: Optional
Grades K2-11, SDD 2-5, ELs: Optional
Speaking, Writing: 4-6 business days
Reading, Listening: 30-60 minutes
Interactive Reports: 15-20 days after the window closes
Students are assessed with LAS Links through a computer-based test that measures English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The assessment includes tasks such as listening to audio and answering questions, speaking into a microphone in response to prompts, reading passages followed by comprehension questions, and completing writing tasks like sentence construction and short essays. It is designed to evaluate students’ proficiency in social and academic English across grade-appropriate content.
