Week 4: Reflecting on Impact & Planning Next Steps 

Focus: Reflecting on the impact of data-driven instruction on iReady Phonics usage and student learning, and planning for continued growth. 

PD Session: 60-75 minutes

Final Data Review & Success Sharing (20 min): Review the cumulative iReady Phonics usage data over the 4 weeks, highlighting the group's collective achievement of the 10% usage increase. Provide time for teachers to share individual student success stories related to phonics growth. 

Reflection Protocol (25 min): Guide teachers through a structured reflection on their journey with data-driven phonics instruction. 

Prompts could include: 

■"What was your biggest learning or 'aha!' moment during this 4-week cycle?" 

■ "How has your approach to using iReady data changed?" 

■ "What impact have you observed on your students' phonics skills or confidence?" 

■ "What challenges still remain, and what support do you need moving forward?" 

Planning for Sustainability (20-30 min): Facilitate a discussion on how to embed these data-driven practices into their ongoing routines. Co-create a brief "next steps" plan for the group or individual teachers.

■ "Looking at the data from the past four weeks, what's one piece of evidence that shows your efforts have made a difference for students?"

 ■ "What's one data-driven practice you've adopted that you definitely want to continue?" 

■ "What's one area of data-driven instruction you'd like to explore further?" 

Teacher Action Step (Weekly Focus):  Each teacher will complete a reflection on their experience, identifying 1-2 key takeaways from the PD cycle and 1-2 personal goals for continuing data-driven phonics instruction. 

Progress Monitoring (Quantitative Look-Fors): 

 iReady Reports: Final review of overall iReady Phonics usage data for the 4-week period to confirm the 10% average increase in student usage across the participating classes. 

Teacher Reflections: Review teacher reflections for evidence of changed practice, understanding of data's impact, and commitment to continued data-driven instruction.
